Few topics in the rishta world create more anxiety than fees, and the reason is simple: the market has no standard. One bureau in Karachi charges a small registration fee and nothing more. Another asks for a large cash amount before showing a single profile. Families, especially those searching for the first time, have no way to tell which is normal. This guide explains the fee models you will meet, the warning signs of a dishonest operator, and what a fair agreement looks like, so you can pay with confidence or walk away with certainty.

The three fee models you will meet

Registration fees

Many bureaus charge a one-time fee to register your profile and begin work. This is legitimate when it is modest, receipted and explained: it covers the cost of sitting with you, documenting your requirements and adding you to their register. What it should never be is a large, vague amount described only as "file charges".

Monthly or package plans

Some bureaus and platforms work on time-based plans: a fixed fee for a fixed period in which your profile stays active, you receive proposals and the team continues matching you. This model is easy to judge because everything can be written down: the price, the duration, and what is included, such as how many proposals, contacts or meetings the team will arrange.

Success fees

The oldest model in the business is a fee paid when the rishta is finalised, sometimes called a settlement or shadi fee. It can be fair, but only when the amount or percentage is agreed in writing before the search begins. A success fee invented after the families have met, when emotions make refusal difficult, is the single most common complaint families bring to us about other operators.

Red flags: walk away when you see these

  • Cash demanded with no receipt and no written record of what was paid or promised.
  • No written terms at all, only verbal assurances that change every time you call.
  • Pressure to pay today, claims that a perfect proposal will disappear by evening, or guilt about your son or daughter's age.
  • Fees that keep growing: a new charge for every profile shown, every phone number shared, every meeting arranged, none of it mentioned at the start.
  • Refusal to say the total cost of the full service when asked directly.
  • Profiles shown without consent, such as photographs forwarded on messaging apps with no control, which tells you how yours will be treated too.

What a fair written agreement includes

  • The exact fee, the currency and what it covers, in plain language.
  • The duration of the service and when it starts and ends.
  • What happens if no match is found: renewal terms, any refund policy, stated honestly either way.
  • How your profile and photos will be used, and who will see them.
  • A receipt or invoice for every payment, with the bureau's name and contact details.
  • A named person to contact with questions or complaints.

Our own plans, published on purpose

We believe the simplest answer to fee anxiety is to print the prices where everyone can read them before registering. Our plans are on this website and in writing: Basic is free for 30 days, so you can create a profile and look around properly. Perfect Match is Rs 5,000 for 60 days, and Rishta Plus is Rs 10,000 for 90 days, with the features of each plan listed openly. There is no separate success fee invented later, and if our prices ever change, the website changes first. Fees in writing are not a slogan for us; they are the whole point of how we work.

Questions to ask any bureau before you pay

  • What is the total I will pay from today until the service ends, including every possible extra?
  • Can I see those terms in writing, and will I get a receipt?
  • How many proposals can I realistically expect, and how are they selected for me?
  • Who checks the profiles you will show me, and how?
  • How will my daughter's or son's photographs be protected?
  • If I am not satisfied, what exactly happens to my money?

A trustworthy bureau will welcome every one of these questions. If asking them causes offence, you have learned what you needed to know, for free.

You can start with us at no cost at all: create your free profile today, or message us on WhatsApp at +92 312 6678210 and ask us these same questions before you decide anything.
